Resistance 3 is a great game... But the ones mentioned are better is all.
Gameplay wise, I always put off playing them. Took me ages to play the 1st 3, and enjoyed every one of them... But yet I still haven't played 4 AND I DON'T KNOW WHY!
I agree with you, but not so much author.
I think there are still challenging games where death is something to avoid, as is there are games where survival isn't the main focus. Both have a place, and gaming is better than it ever has been. I don't miss the days where my games took 45 minutes to load on a cassette only to die 1 minute in and wait for that load again.
It makes sense to me to need HD space to create larger more detailed games. If it's a problem for you, then you miss out... Nobodies equal, someone has to lose and you can't have everything - basic facts of life.
I can't afford a high end PC, so I can't play games on super-duper settings... I miss out, but I still get on with my day. If you can't afford a hard drive for your xbox, then you miss out... get over it and do something else.
I don't trust that guys guarantee - dodgy dealer if you ask me.

It takes the piss. They make out the second hand market is all bad, but any other consumable I buy can be sold on as I see fit... why different for games?
If they feel they are losing out on money, maybe they shouldn't have over saturated the market with poor half arsed titles that put people off of spending their hard earned monies...

I say GOTY so far has been Dead Space 2... It's subjective.
I never played it, but I wasn't impressed with Crysis 2 by a long shot. Found it to be a linear average affair in all aspects.
